About

Our work developing and facilitating research that improves care and life with diabetes is no longer limited to type 1 diabetes (T1D). In 2022, we utilized the same methodologies and systems in the T1D Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative (T1DX-QI) to launch our type 2 diabetes (T2D) pilot program.

Background

Over the past two years, the T1D Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative (T1DX-QI) has conducted pilot projects across five clinics to address gaps in care and develop quality improvement interventions to improve outcomes for people living with T2D. Additionally, we have conducted custom research and study recruitment in T2D.

The T2D Exchange will include the expansion of our QI initiatives and virtual, direct-to-participant initiatives. The T2D online registry will mimic the current T1D online registry, involving direct-to-participant communications and the collection of data, including PROs, device data, and the ability to link to external data sources like lab and EMR.

We will utilize some of our existing resources and lessons learned from our prior work to move quickly and to maximize the success of this T2D initiative.

T1D Exchange is a nonprofit organization that facilitates research and quality improvement, driving improved outcomes for people living with diabetes.
